The cycle then repeats, but it seems the problem is the code on the site is only executing the open connection and nothing further than that. The phpBB forum is not available to download or install using the AlmaLinux package repositories. Once the connections reach the limit (50), the message about the number of users is displayed until a connection times out and becomes available again. ![]() This leaves the connections open in the sleep mode until they eventually time out at 1000 seconds. We are not able to see any actual queries being executed against the database and it seems that the connections are being opened, but then no queries are being performed and the connection close command is never issued. We killed the sleeping connections and the site no longer displays the ‘max_users_connections exceeded’ error, however, the forum still does not load. The maximum database connections limit for your hosting server is 50. It supports all major database engines including MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, and SQLite.
